School Curriculum

At Coppull Primary School, we aim to provide children with a diverse and varied curriculum which both meets the needs of individuals, creates challenge and engages all learners. We follow the Lancashire National Curriculum Support Materials Framework as the basis for our theme work. Foundation subjects are taught through themes in each group which change every half term. Year 1 & Year 2 children are taught with a rolling two year programme due to having a mixed class. Other subjects such as Religious Education and PHSCE are taught discreetly. Attached are yearly overviews for each group which shows each of the themes and which subjects are taught in each area. These overviews are adapted by school to match the school’s ethos and aims and to meet our children’s needs and broaden their experiences. Theme planning is enriched by offering visits and experiences each half term which further enhance and consolidate children’s learning.

Maths and English lessons are taught following the National Curriculum.
