School Dance Team

Posted: August 3rd, 2016.

Our School Dance Team have been very successful this year! They qualified for the regional heat of the Great Big Dance Off 2016, came first in the Chorley Sports Partnership Primary Dance competition and came first in Albany Academy’s Dance competition! The children were coached all year by Miss Arkwright and worked really hard to achieve their success. The children performed a cat dance to the song ‘Jellical Cats’ for Cats the Musical.

Grace said “Before we went on stage we were nervous and excited… we had been practicing for weeks and weeks…we were very pleased when we were placed first…the crowd went wild when we went to pick up our certificates, but not as much as when we finished our routine!”

Abi said “We had a brilliant time performing on the stage, but it was much bigger than the hall!…I was so happy when we won that I nearly started crying with joy and laughter…thank you Miss Arkwright for teaching us the dance – I loved every minute of it!”

Auditions will be held in the Autumn term for next year’s dance team!
