On Wednesday 10th December, Year 5 and 6 were lucky enough to visit Astley Hall to discover what life was like in the Victorians times.
During their visit they took part in four different fun activities such as: cleaning the floors; singing carols; playing with toys and playing games.
In the kitchen they helped to make Christmas pudding. There was lots of different smells from the spices. Also in the kitchen there were pigeons and a hare attached to the ceiling!
They all became Victorians for the day and dressed up in costumes, which were rather poor or rich. As they walked through the door they spotted the marvellous ceiling!
One of the ladies called Ruth talked to them about their Christmas tree and what evergreen is.
