At Coppull Primary School we have a School Council. There is a boy and a girl from each class on the School Council. The School Council members were chosen by their class in a vote. We meet every Thursday at 10:30. Our job is to make sure that Coppull Primary is the best it can be for all children!
What we do
We listen to the ideas of the members of our class and we bring these to the School
Council meeting on a Thursday to discuss.
We also help to plan, promote and run school fundraising events such as Children in Need, Christmas and Summer Fairs, Red Nose Day and other events to raise money for school fund. We also share ideas for the Good to be Green treat at the end of each half term.
What we have achieved this year
This year we got new equipment for the Quiet Yard. We now have recycled plastic activity tables with games on the top for us to play together at break and lunch times. We held a cake sale for Children in Need and we raised lots of money for the charity. At Christmas time we visited local businesses to ask for donations for our Christmas Fair to help us to raise money for school. We were very lucky and lots of businesses were very generous!
In school we have traffic lights in each class and our aim is to stay on green by following the school rules. The School Council then discuss ideas for a ‘Green Treat’ at the end of each half term. This is for the children who have stayed on the green traffic light for the whole half term. So far we have had a vintage ice cream cart, an afternoon of sports on the field, a film afternoon, hot chocolate and marshmallows in the staff room and a bouncy castle!
If you have any ideas please share them with your School Councillors!
